Final rites were held Sunday afternoon for Charles W. Moore, 71, who died in his home at Mt. Carroll at 4:30 a.m. Friday morning (November 24, 1939). The Rev. James Foard, pastor of the Mt. Carroll Methodist Church, officiated at the services in the Moore home, and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Moore, son of Robert and Anna Mackay Moore, was born March 19, 1868 in Mt. Carroll. On Oct. 27, 1897 he married Miss Blanche Pogue in Monmouth. Surviving are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Kenyon Pierce of Elgin, Mrs. Norwood Casselberry of Urbana and Mrs. Howard Merrit of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Rankin of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Alice Demmon of Mt. Carroll; and two brothers, Robert and Duncan Moore of Los Angeles, Calif.
