DAVID WELLINGTON CORWIN, 81, of Ridgeway, died at 3 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2001, at Mary Rutan Hospital. Born March 15, 1920 at Hart, Michigan, he was a son of the late Clifton and Mary Pegg Corwin. On October 29, 1939 he married Beth McDuffee in Rushsylvania. She died February 21, 1998. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Molly) Corwin of Huntsville and Darrel (Linda) Corwin of Ridgeway; one daughter, Diana (Bob) Fillinger of Rushsylvania; two sisters, Olive Tapp of San Gabriel, California and Doresa Brugler of Naperville, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by one brother, Thomas Corwin; and three sisters, Martha Kerns, Dorthea Terrill, and Helen Peterson. In 1982, he retired as an assembler for Creviston Implement. He also farmed. The 1937 graduate of Rushsylvania High School was a member of the Ridgeway United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Rushsylvania Lions Club and formerly was a member of the Logan County Cattleman's Association and the Logan Farm Bureau. A woodworker, leather craftsman and a bee keeper, he and his wife were broom makers and traveled with this craft to shows around the state. An avid card player, he especially liked to play Pine Island rummy and entertain in the family log cabin. The Rev. Doug Upton will conduct the memorial service at the Eicholtz Funeral Home, Rushsylvania. Burial will be in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
