Mayce N. Lorentz, 64, Route 1 , Harviell, Missouri died of cancer at 11:59 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Doctors Regional Center. Mrs. Lorentz had lived in Butler County since 1958.

She was born July 14, 1916, in Stonewall county, Texas. On January 31, 1958, she married Charles Lorentz at Olympis, Washington.

During World War II, she worked as a welder in a ship yard in Washington state. She was a Baptist by faith, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary at Cape Girardeau.

Surviving are her husband, Charles; four brothers, Virgil Norris of Rule, Texas, T. J. Norris Jr. of Lubbock, Texas, Cecil Norris of Aspermont, Texas, and Roy Norris of Odessa, Texas; and one sister Agnes Petty of Abilene, Texas.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 5, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Fitch Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6 at Fitch Funeral Home with The Reverend Ray Barber officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Poplar Bluffs.
