Duane Jackson, age 76, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
Duane was born on March 9, 1942 in Burnside, KY to the late Novel Jackson and Maggie Troxell Jones. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and attended Bronston First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Julia “Charlotte” Kimsey Jackson, whom he married on March 12, 1966 in Georgia; one daughter, Rachel (and Miguel “Angel”) Galvan of Quemado, TX; two sons, Duane Swaconie of Somerset and Robert (and Pamela) Jackson of Berea, KY; and six grandchildren, Miguel Galvan, Christian Galvan, Jordan Galvan, Marriah Walters, Andrena Mounce and Alexa Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Novel Jackson and Maggie Jones.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ulanda Price officiating. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
