Doyle Lynn Hughes, age 77, of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, with Pastor Kevin Trinkle speaking at 4:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.

Doyle was born on Friday, August 2, 1940, in Center, Texas to parents, Amie (Fleming) and Burnis Hughes. He had been a lifelong resident of Mauriceville, Texas before moving from Oviedo, Florida. He was a Christian man with a heart of gold. Doyle found the love of his life when he met Barbara Hughes. They were married for 60 blissful years. He was a very caring and loving man who loved his family and friends. Family was everything to Doyle. He was a very kind hearted man that never met a stranger and made so many friends throughout his life because of that. He worked very hard in his company, Hughes Concrete, that he and his wife successfully ran for many years while living in Oviedo, Florida. He enjoyed many years hunting and fishing with his son Doyle whom he made many great memories with. Family gatherings and cookouts were amongst some of his very favorite things to do. Doyle was a son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to so many wonderful people. He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.

Doyle is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Jean Hughes; parents, Amie and Burnis Hughes; son, Rory Hughes and brother, Sonny Hughes.

Doyle is survived by his children, Doyle Hughes and Crystal of Florida and Cindy Duhon of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Mandy Jay, Brian Duhon and Doyle Hughes, JR. as well as four great grandchildren.
