She later moved her membership to Providence Methodist church, north of Clifton Hill, and remained a faithful member until the end.

She was married to George Alexander, of Illinois. He died March 9, 1888. Six children were born to them, one of whom died in infancy. The others are as follows: Mrs. Rosa Cook, Mrs. Janie Carter, John Alexander, Robert Alexander and Mrs. Anna E. Pogue; sixteen grandchildren, one brother Isaac Richars of Texas.

Mrs. Alexander was a patient sufferer for a number of years with cancer of the liver, and the end came as a relief to her intense suffering. She expressed a desire to go home. Her unselfish life will be a sweet example for her children and friends. The funeral took place at her home east of Salem, and she was interred at Hagar. Rev. T.F.
