Terry Ray Hendrix, 68, of Scipio…Born May 13, 1950…Got his wings at 2:20 a.m. on May 13, 2018…Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Brother.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.

He graduated from North Central High School of Indianapolis in 1968. He served his country from 1968 thru 1971 as a US Marine and did a tour in Vietnam. He came home to marry his wife of 47 years, and to start their family. He was proceeded in death by his father, Thomas E. Hendrix and one brother, William Steve Sink. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Hazel Sink of Brazil, IN,; his wife, Nancy June Stough Hendrix of Scipio, whom he married on September 26, 1970; daughter, Brenda (Norman) Hendrix of Scipio; son, Danny (Lori) Hendrix of Utah; four brothers, Dean, Tom and Jimmy Hendrix, and Ricky Sink; three sisters, Susie Hendrix, Jewel Gordon and Beverly Pendleton; six grandchildren, Derek Koger, Brandi Kerly, Devon, Casey, Wyatt and Kobly Hendrix; and one great-grandchild, Brexton Kerly.

Throughout his life, he very much enjoyed working on all types of race cars from quarter midgets to sprint cars. He loved spending time at the races and getting his kids and grandkids involved in the races. He was a retired brick layer from J.T. Thorp, which was his career thru life.
