Mary Ellen was a loyal graduate of Visitation Academy and Fontbonne University and served as a volunteer for both educational facilities. She was a school teacher for many years in both public and private schools around the St. Louis area. Mary Ellen also volunteered at Birthright for over 20 years. She served the parish of Holy Infant in numerous areas for many years. Together with Wally they supported many St. Louis civic and cultural organizations and were big supporters of the arts especially Stages St. Louis.
Mary Ellen's greatest love was her family and she was very proud and supportive of everything the family did. She and Wally worked hard making a loving home for their family. Mary Ellen loved having parties and was the perfect hostess when surrounded by family and friends.
The family would like to offer sincere thanks to Good Samaritan Senior Care, Manor Grove and BJC Hospice for their loving care.
Services: Funeral from the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Saturday, January 6th, 9:45 a.m. to Holy Infant Catholic Church, Ballwin for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Visitation Academy or Birthright. Visitation Friday, January 5th, 5-8 p.m. Friends may sign the family’s on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
