Mr. Clifton Eugene "Ike" Lunsford, age 72, son of the late William Sherman Lunsford, Jr. and Jennie P. Lawson, was born December 29, 1945. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Transitions Life Care of Wake County. He received his education in the Durham County Public School System and was a member of the Greater Cleggs Chapel Community Missionary Baptist Church.

He was employed at Collins & Aikman for thirty-eight years and was recently employed with Langston Security for the past seven years.

He is survived by three children: Irish Dean Jones, Angela King and Clifton Darrell Lunsford; five grandchildren: Travis Eugene Lunsford (Tara), Tondea King, Shawn Dabbs, TreyJohn Lunsford and Shakira Givens; two great-grandchildren: Travis, Jr. and Taia Lunsford; and a special loved one, Jerome Mason; two sisters: Julia P. Mitchell (William) and Jacqueline Lunsford; six brothers: Percy "Tommie" Lawson, John Lewis Lunsford, Lucious "Billy" Lunsford (Sarah), Willie "Coy" Lunsford, Lonzell Lunsford (JoAnn) and Michael "Mack" Lunsford (Frances); one aunt, Lillian Lawson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 1:00pm at The Greater Cleggs Chapel Community Missionary Baptist Church, 2601 Surl Mt. Tirzah Road, Timberlake, NC 27583, with the Rev. Louis E. Cash, pastor, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 1:00pm to 6:00pm with the family present during the last hour from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
