Michael Ray Pope, 62 of Taylorsville passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his residence.
He was born June 20, 1955 in Catawba County to the late Clyde Pope and Mary Jo McClure Pope.
Michael was the owner of the Side Pocket Lounge for 33 years and the owner of Michael R. Pope Trucking for 39 years.
He enjoyed classic country music and was a huge fan of Nascar, especially Kyle Bush. Michael enjoyed spending vacations with his family and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover. Rev. Kevin Graudin and Mr. Sherrill Baxter will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
