TEWKSBURY - Janet Barbara (Canales) Carroll, age 76, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, passed away at home in the care of her family and Circle Home Hospice on Friday, May 25, 2018.

She was the beloved wife of retired Tewksbury Police Officer, Robert E. Carroll.

Born in Boston on March 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert Canales and the late Kathleen (Fearebay) Canales.

Janet was raised in the Brighton area of Boston and Burlington.

She attended Burlington schools and graduated from Burlington High School in 1960.

Upon moving to Tewksbury in 1968, she attended St. Anne's Church in Billerica and later the Tewksbury Congregational Church.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Raytheon Corporation as an Administrative Assistant. During her retirement, Janet worked part-time for the Internal Revenue Service.

She loved following the Boston Red Sox, and playing Bingo at the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus, St. William's Church, and the Tewksbury Lodge of Elks.

In addition, she and her family enjoyed vacationing every summer for the past 50 years at Short Sands Beach in York, Maine.

Besides her husband, Janet is survived by her children, Kelly A. Kondrat and her husband Ken of Derry, NH; Tracey A. Grygiel of Methuen; David R. Carroll and his wife Amanda of Tewksbury; William M. Carroll and his wife Erin of Nashua, NH; Missy A. Carroll and her husband Chris of Tewksbury, and James S. Carroll and his partner Lynn of Laconia, NH; thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert Canales of Burlington; also many extended family members and friends.

Janet was the mother of the late Robert E. Carroll, Jr.

CARROLL - Calling hours are Wednesday, May 30, from 4-8 pm, at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Family and friends are invited to meet on Thursday, May 31, at 10 am, at the Tewksbury Congregational Church, 10 East St., Tewksbury for her funeral services. Interment to follow at Tewksbury Cemetery.
