On the 10th day of January 1847, Edmund B. Taylor of Ray County, Missouri, signed his will at Bent's Fort on the Arkansas River. The witnesses were A. W. Enos and W. F. Dyer who both signed depositions when the will was probated in 1849 in Ray County. Alonson W. Enos was an Assistant Quartermaster with the rank of Captain during the Mexican War. William F. Dyer was a licensed Indian agent.
Edmond's minor children at the time of his death were John T., Mary Jane, and Obadiah.
