VIRGINIA FARR “GINI” JORDAN, 87, of the Annemessex Ridge area of Crisfield, and formerly of Chester, New York, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at her home.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on December 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Wynant C. and Marie Opie Farr. She had been making her home in Crisfield for the past 16 years.
A homemaker, she attended college at Penn Hall in Chambersburg, PA where she was an art major. During World War II, she served with the Civil Air Patrol in Atlantic City.
She was a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Crisfield. She loved to bake and travel with her husband. She drove an RV to Alaska with him, and was his faithful co-pilot on many occasions.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Vincent Joseph Jordan, Lt. Col. USAF Ret.; a son, Vincent Joseph Jordan, Jr. and his wife Dolly of Marion Station; two daughters, Ann Willis of Monroe, New York and Linda McKenna and her husband Gary of Rochester, New York; and three grandchildren, Dale Willis and Anna Clover and her husband Dean, all of Chester, New York, and Lisa Jordan of Salisbury.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 6 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call from 5-6 PM. The Rev. Jim Armour will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733; Lower Somerset Ambulance and Rescue Squad, P.O.
