Beverly Ann Rowley, 81, of Indio, California, and
formerly of Gillette passed away Sunday, Feb. 1,
2015, surrounded by her loving family. She died from
lung cancer after a very brief time of illness.
Memorial service will be at a later date.
Beverly was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Egan, South
Dakota, to Ralph and Ruth Wentzel Forman.
She was married in 1949 to Dale Ettle and they had
four children, Kathleen Susan, Larry Lee, Junetta Ruth
and Diane Dale. They divorced in 1967. In 1968, Bev
met the love of her life, Claude Henry Rowley Jr., and
they married Dec. 17, 1968.
Beverly worked as a meat cutter at Boyd’s, then the
IGA supermarket in Gillette until she retired in 1995.
She and Claude then bought a fifthwheel
trailer and
traveled extensively during the winters until they
found their second home at Indian Wells RV Resort in
Indio.
Beverly is survived by two of her daughters, June
Wells of Weatherford, Texas, and Diane Wagenaar of
Houston, Texas; her stepdaughters,
Wilhelminne Garolla of Wichita, Kansas, and Claudinna Rowley
of Derwood, Maryland; eight grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren
Beverly was preceded in death by her three brothers; her son, Larry in 1962; her beloved husband,
Claude in 2005; her daughter, Kathleen Susan Novak in 2006; and her stepson,
Glen Rowley in
2008.
Beverly was a longtime member of Westside Baptist Church in Gillette. She was true joy to know
and an inspiration to those around her. Her character, spirit and sense of humor were an example to
her family. She lived life to the fullest and never lost her love of fun, competition and games. Her
friends will be consoled to know that she won the last game that she ever played.
