Killed in the loss of Fairey Battle aircraft 2022 of 9 Bombing & Gunnery School RCAF Mont Joli, Quebec near St Luce, Quebec - aircraft crashed at high speed during a training exercise over the shore of the St Lawrence River, a few miles from the school. Eye witnesses stated that the engine of the aircraft appeared to catch fire.
