Son of James W. and Martha Louisa Moody Bass, husband of Mary Lou Deer.

LATTA - Cornelius Graham Bass died suddenly at his residence here at 4:30 o'clock this morning. Mr. Bass had been in failing health for several months but his death came as a surprise to his many friends.

He was born about one and one half miles from Latta [then in Marion County], December 27, 1859. He has resided in Latta since 1907. He was one of the foremost citizens of the town and was a consistent Christian. He held his membership in the Methodist Church of this place.

He is survived by one son, Howard Bass of Latta; and two brothers, R. A. Bass of Aynor and T. L. Bass of Lakeland, Fla.

The funeral will be conducted at his late residence Thursday morning at 11 o'clock by his pastor, the Rev. W. E. Wiggins. Interment will be at the old Bass Cemetery about one mile from Latta.

Latta has lost one of its best and foremost citizens and Mr. Bass will be missed by the people of this community in all walks of life.
