Mary Martha Wood, 93, of Roswell, GA, formerly of Leisure World, Silver Spring, MD and Barnesville, MD, died peacefully May 17, 2018.

Born May 1, 1925 in Hampton, VA, she was the eldest daughter of the late George and Diana Wood.

Mary Martha attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, CT.

She worked in the Hematology Department at George Washington University Hospital in D.C. for over 30 years.

Mary Martha was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing for herself and her nieces. She loved antiques, collected antique dolls and always had a cat no matter where she lived.

She is survived by her sisters, Virginia McClelland of Frederick, MD, Carolyn Harmer of Atlanta, GA and one brother-in-law, Joe McClelland; five nieces, Susan Lawrence of Woodsboro, MD, Linda McLane of Woodsboro, MD, Diana Brown of Atlanta, GA, Katherine Lucey of Great Falls, VA, and Dr. Nancy Wiggers of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville, MD.
