MRS. D. H. HEDGES PASSES AWAY AT HOME SATURDAY
Death claimed another Valparaiso pioneer when Mrs. D. H. Hedges answered its summons last Saturday evening. She had been in ill health for some months but she seemed to be feeling better of late and was apparently feeling quite improved Saturday. She was sitting quietly at home with her husband reading to her when she passed away. Funeral services were held from the Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Nelson Gardner in charge. Burial was in the Valparaiso Cemetery.

Ann Eliza Jamison was born in Scotts county, Iowa, October 21, 1860 and came to Nebraska with her parents in 1865. They settled in this vicinity and ever since she had made her home in or near Valparaiso. She was united in marriage to Daniel H. Hedges on November 30, 1779 (sic)(Probably 1879) and to this union were born seven children, Clinton and William, of Gardner, Oregon, Harvey and Chester, of Valparaiso, Charley, of Lincoln, Mrs. Ethel Lindholm, of Valparaiso, and Mrs. Stella Hellerich, of Emerald. Two brothers, William Jamison of Valparaiso, and J. M. Jamison, of Lincoln, also twenty six grand children and nine great grand children.
