Tipton - Joe A. Leal, was born January 27, 1949 in Sao Bartolomeu, Terceira, Azores to Antonio Mendes Leal & Maria Virginia (Mimi) Cota Leal. He passed away on May 19, 2018. after a long battle with cancer. Joe attended Surprise School, Tipton Elementary School, & graduated from Hanford High School. He co-owned My Brother's Place Restaurant in Tipton for several years with his brother Elmer. After the restaurant closed he did what he loved best work on a ranch. One of his favorite things to do was woodwork and watching classic westerns on television.
Joe was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Kiwanis Club of Tipton and the Cabrillo Club. He is survived by his brother Elmer Leal, sister Filomena (Fil) Martin, (Dennis) & many nieces, nephews, great nephews & nieces and one great-great nephew..
Rosary & Mass to be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018,10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 232 South Adams Rd., Tipton, Ca., with burial at Tipton/Pixley Cemetery in Tipton.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors & staff at Sierra View District Hospital & the staff, doctors & nurses at the Roger F. Good Cancer Treatment Center for their wonderful care of our brother.
