Frances Ragsdale Prather, 97, of Newberry, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at White Oak Manor.
Born January 9, 1921 in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Byers Ragsdale.
Mrs. Prather was known as a loving and wonderful person who enjoyed being in the yard and adored her birds and animals. Most importantly she loved the Lord and would watch any and all religious programs.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Carolyn Elvington, Phyllis Jeter, Mike McMurry, Mike O’Shields, Tom O’Shields, and Angela Jackson; and great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lester E. Prather; siblings, Eugenia McMurry, Dorothy O’Shields, Katherine Prather, and Charles Ragsdale; and her beloved cockatiel Buffy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Jackson.
Burial will be held on Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Greer.
