Roy W. Trackwell, 77, of Brazil, passed away May 25, 2018, from injuries sustained from a fall in March of 2018. He was born May 30, 1940, in Clay County, the son of Roy Woodrow Trackwell and Mary Katherine Morlan Trackwell.

He graduated from Brazil High School, class of 1958.

On May 15, 1960, he was united in marriage to Patricia Shepard Trackwell. They celebrated 58 years of marriage this month.

Roy served in the U. S. Army achieving the rank of drill sergeant, serving overseas in Korea. He was a member of the Brazil Eagles Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars 1127 and the American Legion Post 2. During his work career, he was a craftsman in masonry and was a glazier. He was proud to be a part of re-setting the Eagle at the corner of US Highway 40 and Highway 59 just two years ago.

Roy enjoyed going to auctions, collecting antiques and having fun at casinos. His favorite time was spending time with family, being grandpa and Papa GG.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Trackwell of Brazil; son, Mark Trackwell (Rose); daughter, Kelly Wright (Doug); grandchildren, Heather Hay (Bert), Steven Michael Trackwell (Patty), Chelsea Burke (Evan), Elliot Trackwell, Aaron Trackwell, James Trackwell (Sharena), Brianna Trackwell, Summer Stutler, Dustin Niemeier, Matthew Trackwell, Cody Wright and Kristin Wright; great-grandchildren, Cash, Trenton, Harley, Jayce, Stassi, Mandy, and Carter; one sister, Patty Ann Foltz of Brazil; two brothers, Alan Trackwell of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Gary Trackwell of Carbon; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Graveside military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army, American Legion Post 2 and the VFW 1127. In lieu of flowers, donation may be directed to the Clay County Humane Society, P.O. Box 277, Brazil, IN 47834.
