Daniel was a policeman and detective for 27 years. He started his police career in Harvey as a patrolman, then accepted a position as a policeman at Lynwood, IL. A few years later he accepted a position as a detective. Dan retired from Village of Lynwood in 2017.

Dan was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He devoted his life to the United States Army and was awarded many citations.

Dan was a member of Chapter 17 Hammond and Wolf Lake Rod and Gun Club in Chicago.

Dan left these words, "I love my family, the outdoors, and enjoyed my life as a police officer helping others. He will be missed by his family and friends and his brothers and sisters in blue and green. I love you Rachel, big time! Thank you for my life, I am nothing without you."
