MEADVILLE - Herbert Wilton Ellis, Jr., 88, passed away, Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at U.P.M.C. Hamot.
He was born on October 6, 1929 in Meadville, PA. Son of the late Herbert Wilton Ellis, Sr. and Leola Casler Ellis.
Herbert enjoyed walking, crossword puzzles and going to Tim Horton's for breakfast every morning.
He attended Allegheny College and proudly served in the United States Air Force. Herbert was a longtime supervisor at Avtex Fibers and worked as a security guard at the NSA at Fort Meade in Maryland and Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. where he retired at age 76.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Price of Meadville; son Timothy Ellis and his wife Dr. Kristen Adashi of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Sam Ellis; Brandy Rottman and her husband Matt; Stephanie Proper and her husband T.J. and Nicholas Price; great grandchildren, Blake and Parker Rottman and Penelope and Adelina Proper and his niece Linda Ellis.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his brother Clyde P. Ellis.
Friends and family are invited to call the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335, on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 12:00 P.M.
Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
