Barnekow, Frederick W. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 90 years. The son of the late Fred and Mary (George) Barnekow, Fred was born on November 21, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served as a Fire Direction Instruction in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Fred had been employed at Heavenrich's for 35 years and then for Edward's Men Shop. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish-St. Stephen Catholic Church. Fred enjoyed yard work, cooking and decorating for the holidays. Frederick was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly J. Mueller. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at St. Dominic Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2711 Mackinaw St. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Akpobolokemi will officiate. Private interment will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Dominic Parish.
