ATOKA COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A 25-year-old Atoka County man is in jail, accused of shooting and killing two family members and injuring another.

Atoka County Sheriff Tony Head said it started as a domestic altercation at a home off of Skylark Road. The argument escalated and the suspect, 25-year-old Hershel Hatley, is accused of shooting three people, killing two.

"A very tragic day was yesterday in Atoka County, very tragic, and I hated to hear that it was my neighbors," Edmond Jacobs said.

Edmond Jacobs lives right up the street from where the shooting took place late Thursday night near the town of Crystal.

"I know the Millers. I've known them for about 35 to 40 years. Richard was a very good guy, hard working guy," Jacobs said.

When deputies got to the home, the OSBI report states they found 33-year-old Sami Williams and 73-year-old Richard Miller fatally shot. The third victim, 35-year-old Brandon Aldava, was also shot and flown to a hospital. He's since been released.
