Leslie Owen Murphy, 92, died May 11, 2018, at the Pleasant View Nursing home in Rock Port. He was born June 20, 1925, to Byron and Wreta Murphy in their home near Blanchard, Iowa.

He served in the army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 315. He married the late Jane (Greeley). In 1990, he married JoAnn Graves and moved to Mt. Vernon to manage the 4 Bar F Ranch. After retiring, they moved to Aurora, where Murphy became a parts courier for an auto dealership until the age of 92 when they moved back to Fairfax. He enjoyed raising fox hounds and Quarter horses.

He is survived by: sons Michael (Krista) Murphy of Tarkio and James Murphy of Fairfax; five stepchildren; sister Lucille Hayes of Elmwood Park, Ill.; brother Duane Murphy of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Rebecca Murphy and a stepson.

Visitation is from 12:30-2 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018, at River of Hope Fellowship Church of Forest City with graveside service following at 3 p.m. at Tarkio Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #315, Burlington Jct.
