Marilyn Ann Stone, who also went by the name of Marnie, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento, CA from a massive stroke. She also struggled with dementia for about four years prior to death. Marnie was 91 at the time of death. She lived with her daughter, Sally Brattin, at 2024 Adonis Way, Sacramento, CA for the seventeen months prior to passing and spent most of her married life in Sacramento, CA.

Marnie was born in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, CA on July 25, 1926 to her parents George and Lillian Palmer residing at 803 Spencer Ave, Santa Rosa, CA. She met and then married John Joseph Stone, her true love, on August 18, 1945; Sonoma County, CA. She grew up and attended high school in Santa Rosa. While living in Sacramento, she loved to go water skiing on Folsom Lake with her family on weeknights and weekends while her kids were growing up. She attended Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Carmichael, CA since 1956. She, her husband and family often prayed the Rosary.

She is survived by her four children Patrick John Stone, Michael Kelly Stone, Sally Brattin and Debbie Stone, her two grandchildren, Jill and Joe Brattin, and her great grandchild Bennie Brattin Figone. Marnie is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Joseph Stone, on June 14, 1986, her faithful brother, Kelly Palmer, on February 12, 2013 and her ever-loving dog, Keddy, on August 9, 2016.

The funeral mass service will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA 95608 at 11 am, June 1st. The burial grounds will be Fair Oaks Cemetery, 7780 Olive Street, Fair Oaks, CA 95628 where short prayers and goodbyes will be said 12:30 – 1:30 pm right after the mass. The reception will be held at 4422 Valmonte Drive, Sacramento, CA 95864.
