Presque Isle - On Dec. 26, 2017 the world lost Janice Sargent; a beautiful lady, a loving wife and mother, and a wonderful teacher. She succumbed to the after-effects of radiation and never once gave up the battle. She never pitied herself, because this same radiation gave her many years of life and enjoyment. She especially enjoyed making greeting cards during the years of her retirement; following her teaching years at Skyway School and Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle, ME.

She was born on August 13,1946 in Van Buren, ME. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ida Ayotte, as well as her three sisters; Charlene, Ann Marie, and Adria. She is survived by her husband, Phil Sargent of Presque Isle, her son and his wife, Johnson and Tracy Sargent of Madison, Maine, a nephew and two nieces, and (last but not least) her grandson, Coburn Sargent, of Madison, Maine; not to mention many lifelong friends.

Her request was to have no funeral services. There will be a family celebration of her life at the family camp on Portland Lake in Bridgewater, Maine on an undetermined date during the Summer of 2018.

Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Memories and condolences may be shared at directcremationofmaine.com.
