Denise Nicole “Punkin” Rawls, 40, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Meadows Church of Christ located at, 9195 Dishman Road-Beaumont, Texas 77713 with burial to follow at Voth Cemetery on Tram Road in Beaumont, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, May, 25, 2018 at from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel and on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Denise Nicole “Punkin” Rawls was born April 11, 1978, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Michael and Lela Rawls.
At an early age, Punkin, along with her parents and siblings, relocated to Beaumont, Texas. Punkin was
baptized at an early age and became a member of Northside Church of Christ. She attended school
in Beaumont Independent School District and graduated class of 1996 from Central High School.
Punkin attended Kaplan College and was employed with Baptist Hospital.
Punkin was preceded in death by her sister, Dianthia Rene Rawls; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Rawls; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Gage, Sr.; and two uncles, Lethaniel Gage, Sr., and Hollis Gage, Jr.
Her memories will remain in the hearts of her parents, Michael and Lela Rawls; one sister, LaTonya Rawls; one nephew, JaMichael Simon; one brother, Benjamin Booker, III, all of Beaumont, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
