Cathy attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts.
That same year, she married her husband of 65 years, Bryce Crawford III. They made their home in Omaha and raised their children.
Cathy was active in several Omaha charitable causes, most meaningful to her were her years of volunteer work with the Meyer Children's Rehabilitation Institute (now Monroe Meyer Institute) and the Junior League of Omaha. Cathy was a member of the Phi Sorority , an avid bridge player and along with her husband, a founding member of the Presbyterian Church of the Cross.
