Stanley Dale Russell, Jr, died peacefully on May 8, 2018 at the age of 87. Stanley was born on June 1, 1930 to Stanley Dale Russell Sr. and Helen Russell and raised in Upper Darby, PA on a farm.

He attended a one-room schoolhouse and graduated high school at age 16.
After graduation from Downingtown Jr/Sr High School and working for the electrical company, he enlisted in the United States Navy.

He met Joan Orsett, a nurse, at Great Lakes Naval Base and 4 months later they married on November 17, 1951.

After living and working in Hawaii and San Diego, CA with the Navy, they relocated to Milwaukee, WI; Framingham, MA; then settled in Mt. Prospect, IL.
During this time, he and Joan raised two daughters while also working and studying full time.

He graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1957 with a Bachelor's Degree, and later from Roosevelt University in 1979 with an MBA. In the years since retirement from S. Himmelstein, he and Joan enjoyed spending time with their friends and family;
Stan was able to attend The Honor Flight in 2016. He was an active and dedicated member of Grace Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect, IL.

His children & grandchildren remember him as a kind, gentle and upstanding man who encouraged them to pursue their dreams. His marriage to Joan set an example for his family of unconditional support and love.

A veteran of the Korean War, he is survived by his wife Joan (Orsett) Russell;
two daughters: Sheri (Michael) Conover and Joy (Jim) Shaw;
five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Stanley Dale Russell Sr and Helen Russell.

Visitation Saturday May 12, 2018, 9 am until time of a short service at 11 am at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd, Rolling Meadows.
