Diana (Penny) Wyatt Welch 59 died Saturday October 28th 2000 at the Chandler Hospital in Savannah Georgia after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Funeral services are conducted at the First Congregational Church in Spencer and internment with at the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer Iowa under the direction of Warner Funeral Home.

Penny Welch was born to Ralph and Viola Engel Wyatt on June 3rd 1941 in Spencer. She attended Spencer High School prior to graduating from Ferry Hall, a private school in Lake Forest Illinois. While residing in Spencer she was a member of the First Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school and served on various committees. She was a scout leader involved in the 4-H organization.

She married Jim Welch on March 29th and 1989 and Sibley where they resided until1993. She work for Sign Graphics, Northwest Iowa Review and Standard Office Equipment. After the couple moved to California she became a specialized teacher aide for troubled children in the Hanford School District. The couple has resided in Georgia since 1996.

Preceeding her and her dad were parents and brother Robert (Buffy) Wyatt. Survivors include her husband Jim; daughter Tracy Meyer and her husband Todd of Everly; son, Jay Blanchfield and wife Rhonda of Owatonna Minnesota; son, Dustin Blanchfield of Statesboro Georgia.

NOTE: She was also married to Russell Blanchfield with whom she had three children, Tracy (Teresa), Jay Russell and Dustin Wyatt Blanchfield.
