Jerry Ryan Gardner, beloved father, brother, son, and favorite uncle journeyed peacefully to the other side on Monday May 21, 2018. He was seen off by friends and family who love him dearly and who will miss him every day.

Jerry was born on November 16, 1973 to Ronald Bryant Gardner and Barbara Jean Leany Van Guilder and raised in Beryl, Utah. After graduating from Enterprise High School, he went on to a career in special education. Jerry had a talent for music, creating stories and writing poetry. He loved reading and helping those who needed special care. The thing he loved the most, however, was being a father to his son, Ashton.

He is survived by his son Ashton Gardner of Saint George, Utah; Mother Barbara (Boj) Leany Van Guilder and Stepfather Tom of Castle Rock, Washington, Ronald Gardner and Stepmother Karen of Saint George, Utah, Brothers Dallan (Marianne) Gardner of Buffalo, Wyoming and Carson (Bridgette) Gardner of Saint George, Utah, Sisters Chelly (Patrick) Forsythe of Brunswick, Ohio and Andrea Gardner of Saint George, Utah, 4 Step-Sisters, Kara (Shawn) McNeill, Chrissy Holbrook, Danielle Van Guilder, Marissa Van Guilder, and 3 Step-Brothers, Kyle Bunker, Cody (Jessica) Bunker, and Collin Foremaster. He is preceded in death by Grandfather and Grandmother Ed and Mary Gardner; Grandfather and Grandmother Bert and Patsy Leany; and by Aunt Nancy.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 South Bluff St., Saint George, Utah. A visitation will be held on Thursday May 24, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm and prior to services Friday from 9:30-10:30 am, both held at the mortuary. Interment will take place in the Newcastle Cemetery, Newcastle, UT.
