She was born in Rockingham County, NC on February 3, 1931 to the late John Lewis and Jane Via Yates.
Mrs. Chandler was an active member at First Pentecostal Holiness Church while her health permitted. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, word search puzzles and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Preceding her in death was her husband, David Chandler; son, Dennis Chandler and a grandson, Ben Chandler.
Surviving are two sons, David O. Chandler, Jr. and fiancé, Sherra; Tim Chandler and wife, Misty; daughter, Bonnie Sparrow and husband, Bob; six grandchildren, Christopher Sparrow, Erin Sparrow, Rebecca Phillips and husband, Mick, Logan Chandler, Brian Chandler, and Brittany Chandler and fiancé, Jeff Brown; also surviving is a sister, Verbena Woods.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Tim Wolfe officiating.
