"James Crist, son of George and Harriet B. Crist, was born near Cors, Missouri, May 15, 1861. He died November 1, 1948 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 17 days.

He was married December 9, 1885, to Mattie (Sarah Martha) Shrader of near Winigan. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive. They are Edgar and Curt Crist of Brookfield; Mrs. G.E. Milhoan, Mrs. Ward Ware and Russell Crist of New Boston, and Mrs. J.W. Milhoan, or Winigan. Mrs. Crist preceded him in death January 24, 1932. In addition to these children he is survived by eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends." from obit "Browning Leader" Nov. 11, 1948.
