Emily married Zed L. White in 1951. Their family was in a car accident in August 1964 when crossing the Cooper River Bridge. A drunk driver hit them head-on. Zed was killed and their son Francis age 6. Zed and Francis are buried at Holy Cross Cemetery. It is believed that Aunt Emily is buried there too.
