aka William Cleever or William Clever

This is Wiliam 13 Cleaver, son of John 4 Cleaver, son of Peter 1 Cleaver, immigrant, as set forth by author Wm Jessup Cleaver on p33-35 of his 1st book, Some of the Desc. of Peter Cleaver, pub. 1983, Westfield, Ind. This Wm13 was of Upper Merion Twp, and is said to be buried at Valley Friends Cemetery, Chester Co PA by the author. Wm13 married Mary Knight, born 1735, daughter of Isaac and Eliz. Knight in 1757. Mary's Will was proven in 1821, so she died prior to that.[p34]

Wm13 and Mary Knight Cleaver were the parents of two children: Jonathan b. 1758 and Eliz. b. 1761 (she who m. Mr ____ Wright "according to her parents' wills."[p35]) This son is designated as Jonathan 38, in the author's precise numbering scheme, husband of Rebekah Ivins.

The author notes that "They lived near King of Prussia..." PA, which seems to point to Wm13 as one and the same as the William Cleever whose extant Upper Merion, 1771 original mss land survey I recently admired at the PA Hist. Soc, Philadelphia. Visit that repository, source: Anthony Wayne Surveys, West Jersey & Merion... PA, 1771-1774, I.v. 785, Am. 2411.

Wm Jessup Cleaver writes that Jonathan 38, died 15, 2nd month 1833 and explains that Jonathan inherited the homestead and store from his father Wm13.[p72] This death date suggests Find A Grave Memorial# 147686458 (although this entry's DOB does not-Not-equate with the authors--so perhaps its a different man...)

[draft bio by findagraver, DBardes, May 2018, desc. of Wm13's brother: Peter12 [Hickory Grove Cem., Port Penn, DE, Find A Grave Memorial# 188360238], also son of John4, son of Peter1 Cleaver, founder of Germantown PA c1690.]

Record states "Valley" as place of burial.
Buried on Aug 9, 1809.
