William L. Blair, 81, of Rutland, died 2:19 a.m. Tuesday (May 22, 2018) at OSF HealthCare Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

William was born Aug. 10, 1936, in Spring Valley, the son of Henry and Verla Orth Blair.

He married Carol J. Arndt on Sept. 13, 1958, in Rutland. She survives along with five children, Thomas (Christine Brown) Blair, Peru, Steve (Jill) Blair, Toluca, Tina Blair and Scott (Jean) Blair, both of Rutland and Theresa (Patrick) Martin, Wenona and seven grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Toluca, and a member of the Rutland American Legion for over 50 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country for 10 years. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co., Mossville.

William was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
