Verlin D. Robinson, 87, of Ottumwa, died at 11:32 a.m. May 22, 2018 at his home.
He was born September 29, 1930 in Ottumwa to Louis Ray and Pansy May Robinson. He married Marilyn Potter on November 17, 1950 and she preceded him in death on December 29, 2011.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Verlin worked at Ottumwa Water Works for 33 years, retiring as manager of the Water Works and Hydro Electric plant.
Verlin loved wood working and making kitchen cabinets and end tables. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helping them with housing projects.
Surviving are his sons, Rick (Sherry) Robinson and Randy Robinson both of Ottumwa and Jerry (Kay) Robinson of Sigourney; grandchildren, Chad Robinson (Beth Gravett) of Altoona, Lynna (Marc) Roe of Ottumwa, Kim (Jake) Reed of Hedrick, Kevin (Amy) Robinson of Oskaloosa; great-grandchildren, Keaton and Kenna Gorden, Taylor Cook, Dylan Reed and Katelynn Robinson; a sister, Corrine McElroy and a brother, Walter "Snook" Robinson Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Agnita McCord and brothers, Leo and Melvin Robinson.
Visitation will be open at 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Reece Funeral Home.
A graveside service and burial will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Shaul Cemetery with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis & Wapello Counties.
