Gloria M. Stevens, age 84 of Durham, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Croasdaile Village in Durham.

She was born on December 10, 1933 in Amsterdam, a daughter of the late Jay Stevens and Dorothy Winne Stevens.

Gloria was a graduate of Fultonville High School and received her Nursing Degree from Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

She later moved to North Carolina and was employed for over 40 years as Head Nurse at the Pediatric Department of Duke University Hospital until her retirement.

Miss Stevens also attended Duke University and received her Bachelor’s Degree.

Gloria was a member of Duke Methodist Church and was an active member of the Church Youth Group which she assisted in their missions program in Nicaragua.

She is survived by her sister Beverly S. Fox of Johnstown; two nieces Leslie Kimball and Julie Czerenda and three nephews David Fox, Larry Fox and Steven Fox.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her brother Maynard Stevens, brother-in-law Kenneth J. Fox and sister-in-law Aida Dabramo Stevens.

A graveside service will be conducted at the Maple Avenue Cemetery, Maple Avenue Road, Fultonville.
