Linda Jean Lasater of Gorman, Texas, passed away on May 21, 2018, at the age of 75 years.

Jean was born in Lamesa, Texas, to Ralph and Floy Ranson. After high school, she attended McMurry College where she enjoyed playing the flute in band and met many of her wonderful life-long friends, including her spouse. She married Brent Lasater in 1964 and followed him through his service in the Air Force to Tennessee and on to Germany. They spent three years in Bitburg, Germany, where Brent served and Jean taught school. After moving to Gorman, Texas, in 1968, she continued her career and taught school for an additional thirty years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Gorman, and taught preschool there for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Brent Lasater, of Gorman, Texas, son and daughter-in-law Brian and Becca Lasater of Frisco, Texas, and grandchildren John Mark and Matthew Lasater also of Frisco, Texas, sister Martha Ann Henson of San Angelo, Texas, and brother Lynn Ranson of Lamesa, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Floy Ranson of Lamesa, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Gorman, Texas.

Services will be held on Friday, May 25th at First Baptist Church Gorman with interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
