Patricia E. Irby, the daughter of Enemzo and Esther (Buckland) Cool, was born May 12, 1937 in Escanaba, MI. Her childhood years were spent in Escanaba, where she received her education, graduating from Escanaba High School in 1956.

After high school, she worked as a secretary for Triple A Auto Insurance for 4 years. She later attended a cosmetology school in Milwaukee for one year.
Pat continued to live in Milwaukee for 9 years until moving back to Escanaba, where she opened her own beauty shop.

Pat married Robert Irby on August 29, 1967 in Escanaba.

After their marriage, they moved to Jackson, NE in 1967, where she worked in private medical care for 5 years. In 2002, they moved to Spencer, Iowa.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, where she was active with the Catholic Daughters. Pat was also a hospice volunteer for 23 years and was volunteer of the year of the Sioux City Office. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking care of her grandkids along with reading, knitting and sewing.

She passed away at her home in Spencer on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the age of 81.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Robert, Roger and Russell Cool and three sisters: Beverly Schlaback, Barbara Gerhing and Bonita Wajrowski.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert of Spencer; two sons: Michael Irby and his wife, Julie of Boone, IA and Mitchell Irby and his wife, Kayla of Spencer; one daughter, Michelle “Chelley” Plueger and her husband, Chad of Ankeny, IA; 6 grandchildren: one brother, Richard and his wife, Erma Cool of Escanaba, MI; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer
Visitation will begin 5:00 P.M., Thursday, May 24th with the family present from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
INTERMENT Privately by the family at a later date.

A lunch and time of fellowship will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer immediately following the memorial services.
