Lena grew up and attended school in the Cole community. In 1942 she married Robert Stoney Rogers and together they raised two children, Roy and Janice.
Because of Robert's job, working as a Union Electrician, Lena and her family lived in 23 different states during their first 10 years of marriage. In 1953 they returned to Oklahoma and made their home in Cole, then in 1956 moved to Rosedale, from 61-70 they lived in Criner, 71-83 they lived in Washington and for the past 35 years she has lived in Sulphur.
Lena worked as a homemaker, wife and mother most of her life. While living in Criner, she also worked for Roy Wilson's Carpet Factory in Wayne. After moving to Sulphur, she worked at Apple Furniture. Throughout her life, Lena enjoyed gardening, cooking, mowing her yard and having Sunday get-to-gathers with her family. She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Toots and Stella Wade; Husband, Stoney Rogers; Granddaughter, Robin Rogers; Great Granddaughter, Fashon Marie Rogers; Three brothers, Clarence W. "Fat" Wade, Will "Mug" Wade and John Wade.
She is survived by: Son, Roy W. Rogers and wife Rolanda of Dougherty, OK, Daughter, Janice Rogers of Sulphur, OK. Two grandchildren, Three great grandchildren, One niece, Carol Wade of Cole, OK., One sister-in-law, Wanda Wade of Cole, Also other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Washington Cemetery in Washington, OK.
