Barbara Lee Anderson, 85, of Freelandville, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at 8:50 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2018 with her loved ones by her side at Freelandville Community Home.

Barbara was born Dec. 26, 1932 in Pinckneyville, Ill. to Beldon Ceward and Elva Nancy (Tincher) Davis. She married her high school sweetheart, Bryce Abe Anderson on Dec. 3, 1951, he survives.

Barbara is also survived by their children, Bryce Lee (Bobbie) Anderson of Vincennes, Paul Ceward (Janna) Anderson and Rebecca Jane (Ted) Roach of Oaktown; and grandchildren, Danneca (Caleb) Skandera of Santa Rosa, Calif., Bethany (Joel) Jirak of Winchester, Ky., Hannah (Nick) Hatfield of Oaktown, Amanda (John Paul) Sprague of Bicknell, Luke (Stephanie) Anderson of Carlisle, and Audra (Kevin) Lavery of Bargersville, Ind.; as well as 29 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nephews Beldon Hughes of Edwardsport and Rodney (Connie) Hughes of Bicknell. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Juanita Provines.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her family, and loved them fiercely, while making the Best pancakes for her grandchildren. She loved singing, (especially duets with Abe for over 70 years), shopping, camping, owls, eagles and especially red cardinals. She also enjoyed playing cards like euchre, canasta.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Freelandville Community Home and Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Freelandville Christian Church with her son, Pastor Bryce Anderson officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 4-8 p.m., Monday May 28, 2018 and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday.

The Anderson family have entrusted James W. Meng, Jr. and Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home in Linton with these arrangements.
