Roger F. Klein, 74, of Hinckley, Illinois, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore.
He was born October 23, 1943, in DeKalb, the son of Frank and Hazel (Gunderson) Klein. Roger married Irene McBride on July 21, 1963, in Belgrade, Nebraska. Roger was a graduate of Hinckley-Big Rock High School Class of 1963 and attended the University of Illinois. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and served on the church board; Road Commissioner and Clerk of Pierce Township; member and Board President of Hinckley-Big Rock School; and Sexton and Board Member of East Pierce Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; son, Dan (Lynn) Klein; daughter, Sue (Brett) Miller; grandchildren, Kyle (Cortney) Miller, Adam (Hannah) Miller, Mark (Marie) Klein, Lee, Beth and Anne Klein; brother, Ron Klein; sister, Linda (James) Means; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John C. Klein; and sister-in-law, Karen Klein.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb, with the Rev. Charlene Hinckley of St. Paul United Church of Christ officiating. Cremation will follow, with burial of cremated remains at a later date at East Pierce Cemetery in Maple Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Anderson Funeral Home.
