On May 21, 2018, one of the sweetest and most loving ladies EVER came home from the hospital and then went home to her heavenly reward. She took her last earthly breath and woke up in the arms of Jesus the very next. To be only 5 feet and ½ inches (don't forget the ½) she was a mighty prayer warrior at Smithville Baptist Church. She loved the time she spent as a substitute teacher and as a volunteer for the Pittman and Oak Grove Band Programs, and impacted many lives.
Her favorite things to do was to sit in her recliner, hold her beloved fur baby LuLu, and watch the magnificent Warrior River. She also enjoyed bowling and playing Bunko with her Bunko Babes.
She was preceded in death by her parents Murray and Mary Green, her siblings Murray Green and Ann Jones; her daughter-in-love Kelley Head, and her in-laws Henry and Drucilla Head.
Her remaining loved ones are her soulmate and husband of 48 years Alton Head, his daughter Jhan Head Powers (Jeff), her sons Ray Head (Cindy), and Jeremy Head (Lanea), her grandchildren, Sera and Jacob Powers, and Bailey, Mackenzie, Maddie, and Gadge Head. She was also "Moma Head" to many others including Brett Bobo, Tonya & David Bowens, James Burford, Robin Cencarik, Rance Greer, Briana Key, Mike & Tammie Simpson, and Mark & Kim Tomberlin, and Lance Northcutt.
If you were lucky enough to be loved by Judy Head, then you were lucky enough. We know there was an incredible rejoicing in Heaven when she saw Jesus, and while we mourn, we WILL see her again in heaven. The visitation will be on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home in Hueytown. Her funeral will be at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home, on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Smithville Baptist Cemetery (Toadvine Cemetery Road.)
