Will of Jacob Pirtle

I, Jacob Pirtle, of Hardeman Count and State of Tennessee, do Will and Desire, these my Worldly goods and effects be disposed and divided amongst my children and heirs, in following manaer after my decease.

First, I give to my two daughters, Sally Gibbs, and Rebecca Borett, one hunderd dollars each.

Second, i give to my son Michael Pirtle's three children, Sally, Elijah and Lewis, one hundred dollars each to be given to them by my executors when they come of lawful age.

Third, the balance of my property I wish to be equally divided between John Pirtle, Priscilla Scott, William Pirtle, Benjamin Pirtle, Mary Jones and Robert Pirtle.

Fourth, I give Isaac Pirtle a legacy that will be five hundred dollars less that the part that will fall to each in the above division; as I think he already as received about that much.

I hereby appoint my sons William and Robert Pirtle, executors to this, my last will and testament. This 14th day of May 1836. Witness: John Caldwell and Thomas Day.
