Robert A. Barringer Sr., 83, was the son of the late Alfred P. and Margaret T. (Mueller) Barringer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of private first class. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Joan T. (Casey) Barringer. Robert was a sales consultant at DeNooyer Chevrolet. He was a member of the Schenectady VFW Post 357 and enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by four children; his sister, Ruth Richards of Rotterdam; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
