CHILLICOTHE - Ray Albert Killion, 78, of 714 First St. died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, at Morton Terrace Nursing Home in Morton.

Born Aug. 11, 1925, in Washington, Ind., to James and Grace Miller Killion, he married Beverly Zinkan on Aug. 16, 1947, in Washington, Ind.

Surviving are four sons, Steve (and Roni) and Kevin (and Rene), both of Peoria, Mark (and Tracie) of Deer Creek and Eric (and Tami) of Chillicothe; three daughters, Sherry (and Robert) Adams of Chillicothe, Karen (and Jose) Espinal of Aurora and Laura (and Michael) Long of Peoria; one sister, Alma Edwards of Washington; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

A World War II Army veteran, he served with the 75th Infantry in the European Theater and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4999.

He worked for Kreiling Roofing Co. as a maintenance supervisor for 22 years. He also worked for Haggerty Steel until retiring in 1976.

He was a member of RV Roadrunner Camping Club of Havana.

He was a member of Chillicothe Christian Church.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. Robert Hentrich will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Rescue 33.
