Wayne L Peters Jr., age 74, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH CHAPEL. A private family burial will occur at a later date.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Kyle (Kyrstin) Mettler of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Kevin Mettler of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Cory Mettler of Oak Island, MN; grandchildren, Kyra and Kayne Mettler; sisters, Christine Peters of New Ulm, Catherine Peters of Bloomington, and Lida (Carl) Rolloff of New Ulm.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lynn Peters.

Wayne L. Peters Jr. was born December 4, 1943 to Wayne and Ruth (Friederichs) Peters Sr. in Gaylord. Wayne graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 1961. After graduation, he served in the Army from 1965-1969 and was stationed in Germany. After his service, Wayne worked for the CN&W Railroad for the majority of his career. Upon retirement a few years ago, he moved to Louisiana to be closer to his beloved children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed, blessed be his memory

Wayne Leroy Peters, Jr. 74, a resident of Moss Bluff passed from this life on May 19, 2018 in a local hospital.
Pete as he was affectionately known was a loving father and fantastic grandfather. His family was his world and everything he did centered around him. He served with honor in the United States Army.
Pete is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Lynn Peters.
He is survived by his loving children, Kevin Wayne Mettler, Kyle Lee Mettler and wife Kyrstin all of Moss Bluff, Cory Mettler of Minnesota, two adoring grandchildren, Kyra Mettler and Kayne Bubba Mettler, sisters, Chris Peters, Cathy Peters, and Lida Rolloff all of Minnesota.
Mr. Peters cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles. He will be interred in Minnesota at a later date.
